How I got here

Who You Are Working With

I started in data and AI as a recruiter. I talked to the leading Solutions Architects and Principal Architects at Fortune 500 giants as it related to digital transformation efforts, the AI revolution, and what's the latest and greatest — and most of all, I listened to men and women much smarter than I am, in hopes of attaining wisdom through their experiences.

Once I honed my sales skills and continued my career in advertising, while always keeping marketing and technology close by, I realized I was no longer following the path I wanted for myself. I wanted to create something for myself, no matter the cost, and no matter who doubted me along the way.

I was born of a blue-collar salesman and the first of my family to graduate college. The American dream is an ideal I uphold, because I firmly believe that generationally I have been gifted with a greater opportunity to do more with my career and my life than those who came before me were afforded. I will not live complacently and squander what I've been given — I will step forward with resolve.

I'm Tim King. I've carried this approach through recruiting, workforce solutions, and sports and media advertising sales — generating $750K+ in annual revenue in one role, and writing proposals that changed how a team ran its own process, two of which were adopted outright.

I'm drawn to organizations where the sale isn't the whole story, where understanding why something isn't working is worth as much as closing the deal.

I am a systems thinker. Macroeconomics was always my strong suit. Moving parts and the relationships between those moving parts — whether by causation, or inverse relationships, or something vastly more complex. That's what makes me tick.

I also build what I recommend. The client engagement system that runs this practice — multi-tenant, role-scoped, with sixty automated tests asserting that no client's data can reach another's — I built myself, with no prior engineering background. That matters for a practical reason: the person writing your strategy understands what it costs to actually ship it.

Strategic Market Insights Inc. brings in specialists as an engagement calls for them. Today the work is mine, and you'll be dealing with me directly.
